What is TerraCycle®?

We are a recycling company that specializes in recycling typically hard-to-recycle waste which is not processed by local municipalities, such as drink pouches, coffee capsules and cosmetic product packaging (find out more about what we do here).

We strive to Eliminate the Idea of Waste® through 2 main ways:

  1. Free Recycling Programs

We partner with brands to create Free National Recycling Programs . The brands we work with, sponsor the recycling of a particular type of waste and thereby enabling members of the public to recycle their waste which would otherwise go to landfill. For example, we work with BIC® to recycle writing instruments.

By signing up to the free recycling programs, members of the public can download free shipping labels to send their waste to us or set up their public drop-off location so that members of their community can drop off their waste too, accumulating more waste for recycling!

We offer TerraCycle® points, as a reward for sending waste, that can be redeemed as funds for schools, charities and Non-Profits for every piece of waste collected and returned. This way not only can communities help the environment, but they can support other causes they care about too! Over the years, a wonderful recycling community of volunteers have grown across the US, known as TerraCycle® collectors, and together they have raised more than 1 million dollars for charities!

  1. Zero Waste Boxes™

Alongside this, we also offer Zero Waste Boxes, a complete and convenient solution which includes the storage, shipping and recycling of a particular type of waste that isn’t currently recycled through local curbside/municipal recycling.

The Zero Waste Boxes™ can be used to recycle over 100 different waste categories including all plastic packaging, safety equipment, lanyards and coffee capsules - among others! They are suitable for hospitality areas, homes, offices, stores, warehouses, community spaces, processing or other types of facilities!
