What is a public drop-off point and what does it involve?

A public drop-off point is a place with a collection box where members of the public can drop off hard-to-recycle waste to be recycled by TerraCycle. They are typically set up and managed by a single person or a small group - the administrator(s).

The administrator will be in charge of the following:

  • Managing the public drop-off point
  • Sending the waste to TerraCycle
  • Deciding how earned points will be distributed to non-profit organizations.

Public drop-off points engage local communities, collecting more significant amounts of waste. All public drop-off points can be found here.
