I am an individual within the state of California and would like to be a drop off location, why am I not able to sign up?

As of January 1, 2022, private residences will no longer be able to serve as public drop-off points in California.

If your location is not a private residence and you believe you received this message in error, please update your TerraCycle profile with your organization type and your address to your public location (such as a business, school, library, etc.) to continue being a public drop- off point. Just to reiterate, if your collections are in a public space, we definitely want you to keep participating!

We would just need you to update your profile to reflect your correct organization type. If you are not sure how to update this on your profile, please contact us and we would be happy to assist you.

Individuals currently serving as a public drop-off point can continue to collect their own personal trash individually or connect with a nearby public business to work together to continue to collect publicly.

REMINDER: Public drop-off points cannot have a PO Box as an address in the United States.
